Protect and value human creation in the AI era

HumanStandard was started in Nov 2025, after founder Rasha Rahman read a headline that Suno made $250M off the backs of stolen music. He noticed that AI content would fill up artistic humanly spaces and take away from human artists. Worried about the future of human art, Rasha started studying the history of the Industrial Revolution. While it's understandable to be a Luddite, Rasha knew the fight wasn't there but in the regulation and infrastructure of AI content. One aspect of that is detection and labeling of AI content for transparency. Rasha believes this is a great way to keep AI music controlled while rewarding human artists and genuine innovation of human arts. Our first direction, in our own backyard, as we are musicians before tech nerds, is AI music detection.

Today our models run an enterprise API used by platforms and distributors to label AI music, and another platform CheckSong.com to help protect musicians of labels, publishers, and lawyers from AI copyright, and lastly, an Instagram bot anyone can DM to check if a song on platforms is AI or not.

As from our research and told to us by technical members of staff at large AI music companies, AI music cannot innovate beyond the patterns it learns across the music it trains on. Therefore the art of progression that music and other art forms take through human evolution will have a genuine shift that changes what's next. We believe humans are in charge of the next ideas and the models need humans to create new ideas. Therefore, it's important to reward and value unique human arts. Secondly, AI music takes the time of real consumers that would have otherwise spent that time on real human artists. Therefore, AI music takes from real humans in the limited pools of money that streaming platform economics work in. Lastly, AI fraud and abuse is much more scalable and detrimental. Anyone can generate a song in seconds, taking real ideas and sounds from others' copyrighted works with no penalties. This is theft and it's a piece of cake for the thieves.

We are a product-based post-research lab for audio-based content detection. Our research revolves around industry needs while exploring new ways to detect and secure human music. We work closely with regulators to ensure our products match their needs.
