Check if a song is AI-generated

Type a released song, then check it with HumanStandard in Instagram, Claude or ChatGPT. The answer names the recording it matched and says whether it reads as AI or human.

Check a song

How HumanStandard checks a song

HumanStandard checks songs that are already released on streaming services. You give it the artist and title, it finds the recording, and its detector reads the audio itself, not the metadata or what has been written about the song.

The detector is the same engine HumanStandard runs for music platforms and distributors. It looks for the traces fully generative music models leave in audio, and when the generator is clear it names it: Suno, Udio, ElevenLabs, Stable Audio or MusicGen.

Every check comes back as a plain result with the recording it matched, so a wrong match is easy to spot.

What you get back

Likely AI
The recording carries the markers of a fully generated song. When the generator is clear, the result names it: Suno, Udio, ElevenLabs, Stable Audio or MusicGen.
Possibly AI
The recording reads as generated, with less certainty than a Likely AI result.
Mixed result
AI markers were detected, but not enough to confirm the track as AI.
Likely human
No evidence of a fully generated recording was found.

Questions

How do I check if a song is AI-generated?

Type the artist and title above, then pick where to run the check: the HumanStandard Instagram bot, or the HumanStandard connector in Claude or ChatGPT. The result comes back in that chat.

Is it free?

Every new account gets 2 free song checks. After that, scan packs are one-time payments starting at 5 scans for $1, and purchased scans never expire.

Can I upload an audio file?

Not on this page. Song checks cover released songs. Platforms, labels and distributors that need to check files or whole catalogs use the HumanStandard API.

How accurate is it?

HumanStandard publishes its benchmark at hsverify.com/benchmark, including how many human recordings it wrongly flags at each setting. Song checks read a 30-second preview of each song, so they work from less audio than a full-track scan.

Does it catch songs that are only partly AI?

Song checks look for fully AI-generated music. A song where a human sings over an AI backing track, or where AI only touched part of the production, can come back as Likely human.

Setup for Claude and ChatGPT is on the connector page. The accuracy numbers are on the benchmark page, and the detector comparison covers the other AI music detectors.
